Terms of Service

Last updated 27 August 2026 · Applies to the BoomDrive rider app, the BoomDrive Driver app and boomdriveapp.com.

These Terms govern your use of the BoomDrive apps and website. By creating an account you agree to them.

1. The service

BoomDrive is a technology platform that connects riders who need transport in Lagos with independent drivers. Riders propose a fare; drivers may accept it or offer another price; the rider chooses which offer to accept. BoomDrive does not itself provide transport services.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old.
One account per phone number, used either as a rider or a driver. Keep your device secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
Provide accurate information. Drivers must hold a valid licence, a road-worthy vehicle and any permits required by law, and are approved by BoomDrive before going online.

3. Fares & payment

The fare is the amount agreed in the app when a rider accepts a driver's offer. Riders pay the driver in cash at the end of the trip unless another method is shown in the app.
Promotional credit, where shown, is applied as described in the promotion and has no cash value.
Drivers pay BoomDrive a service commission on completed fares as shown in the Driver app.

4. Cancellations

Either party may cancel before the trip starts. Repeated cancellations, no-shows or abuse may lead to suspension.

5. Conduct

Treat each other with respect. No harassment, discrimination, unsafe driving, or use of the platform for unlawful purposes. Ratings and chat must not be abusive. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.

6. Safety

Check the vehicle plate number and driver details before boarding. In an emergency call 112. Report incidents via Account → Help.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, BoomDrive is not liable for the acts or omissions of riders or drivers, for loss of property, or for delays. Drivers are independent contractors, not employees or agents of BoomDrive. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or close accounts for breach of these Terms.

9. Changes & law

We may update these Terms; continued use after an update is acceptance. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
